What is SUR Music Academy?

SUR Music Academy is a Unique and One of a kind Indian Academy in Southern California.

Why do we need an Academy like SUR?

We at SUR are originally from India. Like all of you who are originally from India we do miss our Family, Friends, Festivals, Spiritual & Religious activities, Food, Movies and Music. At SUR, we would like to provide you an opportunity to connect with India with regards to Music & Dance. We are trying to get to you the Music of India near your home. Also, through SUR people who are not originally from India can understand & learn the rich & beautiful cultural heritage & art forms.

Is SUR Music Academy a Music & Dance class?

Yes it is, but it is more than just being a class. Currently, SUR Music & Dance Academy conducts classes for Adults & Kids in Vocal, Playing Musical Instruments, Dance & Shlokas, Chants etc. Based on your taste and interest, you can choose to learn Classical, Light Or Filmy stuffs. Under the Bala Gurukulam we do teach the Spiritual & Religious subjects. Also, if you think you don’t need to learn, but just need to sing your favorite Kishore Kumar or Mohd Rafi or Lata Mangeshkar songs; you can come over practice on our Karaoke System and even Record your voice on that song track. We have a Recording Studio built in (currently a home studio) to give a high quality, professional output, which you can carry on a CD with your photograph on it!

What else happens at SUR?

SUR gives you an opportunity and prepare you and/or your children for:

• Live Performances on stage
• Music & Dance Competitions – local and state levels.
• Also, we prepare you to participate in popular Television shows (like Sa Re Ga Ma, Voice of India etc.)

Any more advantages?

The students of SUR Music Academy will:

• Learn the nuances of singing on the Mic
• Record and cut their own album
• Conquer stage fear, open up and perform in front of group of people
• Learn and improve their diction of Hindi (we enroll students who don’t speak Hindi too)

What else? Is there anything MORE we should know about SUR?

YES, there is an icing on the cake! At SUR we compose and cut our own private album. You can get a chance to Sing or Play (Musical Instruments) in these albums and Yes become famous.

Where are you teaching all these good things?

We are conducting the classes at various locations in Southern California including Tustin, Irvine, Los Angeles, Lake Forest, and Cerritos. Please contact us for the most recent location additions.
